| BIOGRAPHY My roots are in New England though I live now in California with my amazing family. I was thrilled when my debut novel, All That Matters (Hyperion) became a selection of the Literary Guild, The Doubleday Book Club, and the Book-of-the-Month Club right off the press and then got translated into Japanese, Thai, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese and Greek. Sitting at my computer I never realized people a half a world away would read my words in a language I can’t speak. It’s humbling and exhilarating. I’ve played guitar since I was a kid in a rock band that went to the national Battle of the Bands (I aspire to play and sing with Stephen King and Mitch Albom in their all-authors rock band) I’ve written plays and won a few awards, having been given a love of theatre by my dad who became an actor (his lifelong aspiration) in his 40’s (where I get the ‘never-too-late-to-fulfill-your a dream’ theme in my writing). I’m pretty excited to be working on the screenplay for All That Matters and, we hope soon, The Prince of Nantucket. I have three astoundingly talented and gorgeous grown children who are, of course, married to astoundingly wonderful mates, a teenage son through marriage who is handsome as can be, and a darling six-year-old daughter who loves walking into bookstores and libraries and finding daddy’s books. My greatest asset is my amazing wife, Bonnie, a clinical psychologist, and my first reader. We make our home in LA and chase sunsets. |
